At Moon Willow Studio I complete a limited amount of functional pottery (beyond tiles) each year. Functional work tends to be restricted to items that are sculptural in nature or offer a surface for carved slip imagery. When an item is designed to be functional, the surfaces which would normally be in contact with food or drink are glazed with a high-quality food-safe glaze. Functional pieces are fired to 1250 degrees celsius and are microwave safe and dishwasher safe.
